I am an international maritime consultant and a visiting ship technology lecturer. I specialise in analysing Ship Squat and Interaction problems for ships operating in open water and confined channel conditions. |

I have worked in the shipping industry since April 1952, resulting in over 50 years of industrial, lecturing and research experience to date. Recent research papers include those concerning ship squats for the QE2 and QM2. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has a question or comment on Ship Squat - Please contact me via email: bryan_barrass@hotmail.com Industrial, Lecturing and Research experience 1993-2010 - Consultancy work in Naval Architecture Studies. 1967-2010 - Lecturing at Liverpool University and Liverpool John Moores University in Naval Arch to Masters, Mates, Chief Engineers, to B.Sc. and M.Sc. students on degree work in Maritime Studies. 1963-1967 - Lecturing to ONC students in Shipbuilding and ship theory. 1952-1963 - Draughtsman at Swan Hunters Shipyard in Designing office, Steel office, Outfit office and in the Shipyard itself gaining practical experience. Author of six published technical books on Maritime Studies: Four Current Titles: 2009. 2006. 2004. 2001. Two Superseded titles: 1999. 1978.
